Area Manager Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to organise and manage a number of stores. You will be accountable for the overall success of the stores by setting goals, supervising store managers, and ensuring that they are met.
Effective area managers are capable of managing a wide range of operations from a distance. They are strategic thinkers and excellent leaders. Excellent financial and operational planning skills are also required for the position.
The goal is to ensure that our stores meet and exceed business development and efficiency expectations.
Area Manager Responsibilities
- Develop effective business development strategies to ensure long-term success.
- Establish standards and objectives for various stores and departments.
- Lead a team of store managers to effective collaboration and goal achievement.
- Implement sound financial management to ensure that stores are profitable and within budget.
- Ensure that the company's policies and operational guidelines are followed.
- Solve problems by coming up with innovative and practical solutions.
- Performance should be evaluated using key metrics, and issues should be addressed to improve it.
- Report on progress and issues to senior executives.
- Assist upper management in making expansion or acquisition decisions.
Area Manager Requirements
- Proven experience as an area manager, store manager, assistant manager, or in a similar managerial role
- Solid understanding of store operations optimization and success criteria
- Working knowledge of ERP software is required
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organisational and leadership skills
- Strong business acumen combined with a strategic mindset
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities
- A BSc/BA in business administration, retail management, or a related field is required.
