We are looking for a responsible custodian to maintain and protect our facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

  • Ensure that the environment is clean and tidy.
  • Ensure that the previous day's garbage is cleared up for the next day.
  • To ensure the janitors and cleaners are working on time and regularly.
  • Maintain an inventory of all the cleaning equipment and regularly replenish.
  • Authorize regular security checks, health check-ups and sanitization routines such as pest control.
  • Ensure the plants are watered regularly.
  • Oversee that the place is appropriately shut down after hours and secure.
  • Take on significant damages and ensure they are repaired in time.


Custodian

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Previous custodial and grounds experience preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
  • Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work
  • Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies
