What is payroll?

Payroll is the total of all compensation a business must pay to its employees for a set period of time or on a given date. 6. Gross and net salary

Gross salary includes all earnings before deductions; net salary is what the employee receives after deductions. 7. Ad-hoc pay

Perquisites, or perks, offered by employers are additional benefits beyond the salary, including health insurance, retirement plans, company cars, or gym memberships. What is the difference between salary and payroll?
